This D.O. covers the area around Aranda de Duero, Roa and Peafiel, in the region of Castilla-Leon. It specialises in the production of red wine.
The red wines made using the tempranillo varietal (Tinto Fino or Uva del Pas) are the most characteristic, although the garnacha, albillo, and (where already established) cabernet Sauvignon, malbec, and merlot varietals are also authorised as additional elements. These reds present a intense cherry colour, have very good balance, are structured and powerful, fine and smooth. The characteristic structure and tannins of these wines make them ideal for ageing in wood and in the bottle.
Minimum alcohol content for these wines is 112%.
To enjoy the wine in the best possible conditions, we recommend serving it at temperature between 16 and 18 degrees centigrade.
